"Randi" & "Kinsey"
DTR 87-0425 & Kinsey 89-14
Fisherman always talk about the one who "got away".
Well, this is a little background on the ewe that "almost got away". One
of Bob's FFA students, Cyndi Kinsey, wanted a ewe lamb to show at
our local county fair.
So Bob picked out a late born april triplet that he thought was expendable .
So Bob sold "Randi" DTR 87-0425 for a whole $125. Luckily Cyndi started a
breeding project with her, and we were able to repurchase "Randi" and her
daughter "Kinsey" several years later.
"Randi" was the dam of several stud rams which we retained
and used heavily in the flock. The two most notable would be "Donner
Jack", Supreme Champion Ram at the 1992 Top of the Rockies and sire of :
"Jack Boy" - Member of the 1st Pair of Ram Lambs
at the 1993 National Suffolk Show, NAILE, Louisville, Kentucky
"Gunner" - Stud ram for Layne Suffolks, Turlock,
California and twin to "Jack Boy"
D.T.R. 93-0898 - 1st January Ram Lamb and Member of the 1st Pair at
the 1993 National Suffolk Show (NAILE) and Grand Champion and High-Selling ($9000) Ram at
1994 Reno All-American.
D.T.R. 93-0900 - Triplet sister to D.T.R. 93-0898,
and dam of - "Alpine", Grand Champion Ewe,
1999 National Suffolk Show, NAILE, Louisville, Kentucky &
- "Aspen", Grand Champion Ewe, 2002 National Suffolk Show, Cow
Palace, San Francisco, California.
"Sprout" - 1st February Ewe Lamb at the 1993 National
Suffolk Show (NAILE) and Cow Palace.
Randi also sired "Sierra". "Sierra" is the
sire of one of our current stud rams, "Godzilla".
Kinsey 89-14 has damned 2 Champion Rams at Reno-All American Show
& Sale. She was also the dam of of our top
stud prospect in 2000, "Silverado, Junior Champion Ram
at the 2000 National Suffolk Show (NAILE) in Louisville.
